Hello everyone,
Here is the latest update for U following on our meeting this afternoon. I would like to involve her in the following areas:
Highest priority (start now): Youth Connect (and PB guesthouse) checking Banana bookings and receipts; this should occur quarterly for now, maybe semi-annually later after they know what they are doing and do it well. She will need to check Q3 2015, trip dates to check tomorrow for the visit. Additional support for the foundation's legal entity, as needed. This involves going to Mae Sot a few times a year, covered by HEDPA budget.
Highest priority (start now): Mote Oo (Yangon and Mae Sot) creating Banana accounting system, training staff how to use Banana and how to book into it; checking the bookings quarterly to start, afterwards semi-annually. This will involve going to Yangon a few times a year, able to be covered by my HEDPA budget.
Second priority (start Jan 2016): relieving me of some project administration tasks, more of which will need done after Tamalar Lin is stationed in Mae Sot. For this, since Tamalar Lin desk is available, it would be nice if she can be stationed with me to facilitate her new tasks if not needed upstairs (to be discussed later).
Third priority (start Q1 2016): possible phase in of support for project admin of EDLC (Chiang Rai) and BEAM (Chiang Mai) in order to phase out Tamalar Lin involvement and allow him more time for Hpa An. One programme budget starts in April, the other in July/August so the timing is very good to prepare for this admin handover. The programmes will be managed by me still.
Third priority (potential opportunity) CDMS admin temp support: Kyaw Thu Aung is likely to leave his position. In the event this happens, U could be utilised to fill a gap until a suitable replacement is found and/or to help Christin with training. To be discussed with Christin/Marc if KTA leaves, but I just write here because I mentioned this could happen and U seemed interested.
So this is the current plan. She will only need to spend part of her time on this for now, but I can envision this growing as she learns how to do more.
I suggest these tasks to be monitored as a 'probation' period from now to March 2016 to see if we both are happy with this work. After that time, we can consider to update job description, etc.
Any further ideas or comments? Is there anything else I should do?
Thanks,
Thomas
