In the present study, a TaqMan real-time PCR method was used to
quantify WSSV infection in L. vannamei postlarvae and shrimps. The
results showed that most of the samples from the three hatcheries
and 30 grow-out ponds of different farms in summer or autumn were
WSSV-positive. Compared to samples from the farms, however, the
postlarvae showed very low WSSV infection loads (Tables 1–3).
