The Vice News piece here is emblematic of the way Western media represent the anti-Thaksin movement. The two protagonists of this 'news' piece are part of a story being spun by the media. I say protagonists deliberately because this is a STORY meant to to be provocative. Choosing two spoiled wealthy Thai heirs fighting for their right to drive their Ferraris around the streets of Bangkok does a disservice to the masses who oppose Thaksin and his influence over Thai politics.
Yes, they are part of the protest movement and they are part of the problem. But Thaksin and his cronies have their own spoiled scions acting up and acting out, exercising the perks of privilege and power everywhere they go.
