To receive a score of 2, the explanation or solution process should show some understanding of the problem but would
otherwise be incomplete. If a student’s explanation shows very little understanding of the problem, it would be scored
as 1. If a student’s answer and explanation show no understanding of the problem, the response would receive a score
of 0. If a student omitted an open-ended problem, the student would receive a score of 0 for the problem. Examples
