The crystallinity index was calculated assuming a Gauss curve.
Individual peaks were extracted via Peak Fit 4.12 software. Crystalline
contributions to the main signal were determined with the
intensity observed at the traditional crystalline peaks: 1 0 1, 1 0−1,
0 0 2 and 0 4 0; while the amorphous contribution was obtained
from the broad peak observed around 2≈18◦ (Heet al., 2008). Voigt
functions were chosen for the peak deconvolution and to determine
the integrated area corresponding to the selected peaks, after
this, apparent crystallinity was determined by dividing the area
corresponding to the crystalline region by the total area including
non-crystalline (Scardi et al., 2011; Terinte et al., 2011).
