Molecular analysis
Comparisons with 16S rRNA gene sequences from the GenBank
database revealed
that both strains Y24
T
(1,523 bp,
GenBank accession number KM243343) and H9
T
(1518 bp,
GenBank accession number KM243342) had the highest
similarity to P. hunanensis FeL05
T
. The phylogenetic tree
constructed using the neighbour-joining method (Fig. 1)
suggested that strains Y24
T
and H9
T
were members of the
genus Paenibacillus. The two new isolates and the reference
type strain P. hunanensis FeL05
T
formed a well-delineated
subclade in the phylogenetic tree, which were supported by
all of the tree-making algorithms and with relative higher
bootstrap value. The two isolates Y24

and H9
T
shared 16S
rRNA gene similarities with the P. hunanensis FeL05
of
96.0 and 97.0 %, respectively, while the two isolates also
shared a higher 16S rRNA gene similarity (98.4 %). The
