there is growing evidence for the salutary effects of BDLs in the treatment of psychopathology. although clinical interest has predominantly focused on mindfulness meditation, recent years have seen an increase of investigation into other buddhist techniques. Nevertheless, much remains to be done in terms of strengthening the evidence base for BDLs and for exploring currently untapped ground. for example, Ekman, Davidson, Ricard and Wallace emphasized the pivotal role that buddhist principles can play in informing the direction of emotion-based research. like-wise, although there is some research examining the role of patience as a predictor of adaptive psychosocial functioning exploring the buddhist dimensions of such qualities may lead to greater application within the clinical setting.
