In the Agile Supply Chain paradigm, agility relates to the interface between a company and the market. Agile
Supply Chains are driven by products and services that incorporate the voice of the customer. Competitive
advantages are based on responding to rapidly changing, continually fragmenting global markets. Agile
manufacturing techniques, an extension of lean manufacturing, are applied in this context. Vonderembse et al.
(2006) recommended applying the Agile Supply Chain paradigm for innovative products in the phases of
introduction and growth of the product life cycle.
