classified as: (1) leafy or vegetative if it gives rise to a shoot, (2)
floral if it produces a flower or an inflorescence, or (3) mixed if it
possesses both leaf and flower primordia. A flower bud is: (1) simple,
if it possesses only flower, (2) mixed, if it gives rise to a shoot
with floral or inflorescence primordia (terminally or laterally), or
(3) compound, if a single bud contains two or more vegetative
and/or mixed buds
