As the goal for advancing the material into the next generation, for the future trends the NASA states that it must be lighter, faster and more efficient. NASA is looking for making the next generation aircraft with the CMC or ceramic matrix composite material. Whether it is the rotor for and aircraft or the ceramic motor which can withstand to the high temperature like 2700 degree Celsius and increase the efficiency of it. In order to achieve this goal, NASA researchers are looking in to the ceramic matrix composite or the CMC. The CMC’s are stronger, lighter and it can withstand the demanding force of extremely high temperatures that generate in the core of jet engines. CMC’s are the answer and solution to this criteria and it is in position replace the Nickel based alloy which is used for today’s aircraft engines.
