2.8. Biomasss
Ten of the 8-week-old plants from both cultivars were
weighed for fresh weight (shoots and roots separately) and
dried at 60 ◦C for over 3 days for the dry weight determination.
Since a piece of the root was cut for terpenoid analysis,
we determined the weight of these pieces for the fresh weight
and then they were dried at 60 ◦C. The estimate of the dry
weight for each main root was obtained by calculating fresh
weight/dry weight ratio for the non-extracted pieces of a root
and using this for the dry weight estimate of extracted piece
of the root.
