the major chapel, or the ubosoth, is the most important building in a temple. it enshrines the principal Buddha image and it is the building where monks congregate to particpate in religious ceremonies such as the ordination ceremony. it is a sacred area. the sacredness of the area is marked with sema stunes or marker stoner or boundary stones, which are placed round the ubosuth. the ubosoth is also called an ordination hall.
