1 Design of the Advanced Secondary Cooling
Control System
There is no dynamic water distribution model in
most of inland steel works. Most of water distribution
models are not modified after being calculated
and corrected off line, which can not control the surface
temperature of the strand before straightener
rolls out of embrittlement temperature region to prevent
quality defects. So the control system is presented
based on the tundish temperature and the fuzzy
self-adaptive PlO controller.
The superheat is taken into account for the secondary
cooling control system of continuous casting.
To eliminate the effect of superheat variation, water
compensation is calculated by model and the coefficient
values of equations with one variable are obtained
through linear regression. The fuzzy self-adaptive
PlO controller is designed for the severe variation of
