Two people put on weight, perhaps because they gained muscle after increasing their exercise. The waist circumference of all participants reduced and some dropped clothing sizes. Men reduced the most and eight participants reduced their BMI. Almost all participants reduced their HbAlc levels after 12 weeks. Five participants were in the pre-diabetes range (41-49 mmol/mol) before the programme and were no longer pre-diabetic after 12 weeks.
This was due to decreased sugar intake, more exercise, and participants learning to control portion sizes, and balance carbohydrates, protein and fat in every meal. Eight of 12 participants reduced their cholesterol levels in 12 weeks. The results showed those who did more exercise and lost more weight reduced their levels the most.
