The use of cooperative learning in teaching mathematics minimizes gender differences in
students’ achievement in mathematics. Cooperative learning/teaching strategy is therefore a
suitable teaching/learning strategy for use in mathematics classrooms. Teacher training
colleges and universities should emphasize cooperative learning as an effective strategy of
teaching mathematics. Education stakeholders should encourage teachers to use this strategy
in teaching mathematics so that students share their intellect, co-exist harmoniously, and
learn without anxiety and enjoy mathematics lessons.
