The results of the impact test are summarized in Table 2.All BC/ PLA composites exhibit higher P Em, Ep. Et and Dl value than indicating that BC has a positive contribution to the composites. Among all samples. the Prax Erm. Ep and Et of 7.5% Bc particle reinforced PLA composite increased 24.3%, 29.6%. 96.8x, 49.5% and 52x compared with neat PLA. Ductility index (DI) has proposed by Beaumont et al. which is the ratio of the propa gation energy to the initiation energy for a sample under impact 55 According to Table 2, BC/PLA composites with different BC contents show higher Dl value than the control neat does. It was found that DI increased by 52% for the composite with content of 7.5 wt% compared with neat PLA. BCIPLA composites are capable of absorbing higher amount of energy to stop crack propagation compared to the neat PLA. Besides, BC particle would be favoured created stress concentrations in the PLA that sites for non-elastic deformations such as strain localization or cracks [52]
