You know, I was student teaching. I was focusing a lot on what I needed to do. What's the
content? What's the logistics? How can I do this so that it's engaging to my students? How
can I manage this? You know, survival day by day . . . . It was very hard to pull my focus
away from just getting through it. When you're new, you're putting so much into just
making the thing run. I mean, you want the enterprise to run and everything to be managed
well enough to be engaging to the students. And you're being told that this content has to
come through. I guess I lost sight of bigger objectives in the overall planning . . . There was
a de®nite disconnection between how I was planning and what my philosophy is. (T #6)
