She was acquired and service in the US Navy for a short time and listed as unclassified miscellaneous vessel (USS Prince Eugen) with the hull number IX-300 vessel registered originally to prevent the Soviet Union from acquiring it and docked in Boston for examinations and testing before Operations Crossroads.
