The design of this experiment was completely
randomized with an augmented factorial
arrangement of treatments. Treatments consisted
of diets containing three concentrations of
MT, 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg feed as is, each
fed for three time periods, 20, 40, or 60 d. Each
of the nine experimental treatments was replicated
three times, and the experimental unit
was an aquarium containing postlarval prawns.
Postlarval prawns in six replicate aquaria were
fed the control diet without supplemented MT
to ensure a sufficient number of replicates for
comparison with the treatments. After each
feeding period had expired for each dietary
treatment, prawns were switched to the control
diet containing no MT.
