From this brief overview , it is evident that non-diabetes relatives of patients with type 2 diabetes are at high risk of progressing to diabetes , and that lifestyle modification based on dietary changes and exercise can dramatically decrease the risk of diabetes . The challenge would appear to be transferring this knowledge to hight-risk relatives so that they understand the potential benefits of prevention and can make informed decision about lifestyle change . It would seem , therefore , that more work is needed to devise the optimal mean of educating families about about type 2 diabetes and the linked CVD risk , and also to look at different types of lifestyle chang(for exemple duration and type of exercise) to achicve the most efficient and effective risk reduction .(M Walker ,2008:55)
