into consideration the existing pollution sources. The ventilation rate appears to be rather low in term with spaces like the kitchen, where it is less populated, yet highly polluted. Fortunately, certain indoor air quality criterion is fixed in the Japanese standard in the design stage and management stage, respectively. There is no identical criterion for indoor air quality evaluation in Taiwan, and it is rather improper to import directly from the Japanese standard to amend the ventilation rate requirement for bathrooms in our architectural regulations. Of course, whether the ventilation rate in the Regulation of Construction Technology in Taiwan is reasonable or not, whether there is any need to amend it, ... these are not the subjects we seek to explore in this research. We, however, feel the need to raise them and emphasize their importance.
