Bouncing for fun
Any child knows that a rubber ball can bounce , but now people are finding that humans can bounce too – if they have the right equipment.
A bit of "outer space" in Bangkok.
In Bangkok, that equipment is available at Bangkok's first trampoline park. Appropriately enough, it is called "Bounce" and it takes up one whole floor – 5,600-square-metres – of the new The Street shopping mall on Ratchadaphisek Road.
Bounce has 105 trampolines and many other types of equipment, allowing you to safely fly through the air doing whatever tricks you can think of. Covering the floor is two inches of the best padding to make sure your mistakes don't put you into the hospital.
Ant Morell, the Australian co-owner of Bounce, says the idea came from watching extreme sports. While very few people are brave enough to jump off buildings or the sides of mountains, "everyone still wants to experience the feeling of flying through the air," he says. "They just need the right environment."
For those who wonder what it would be like to be a Michael Jordan.
Mr Morell says Bounce is open to all people of all ages, from five-year-olds at a birthday party, to teenagers to families to serious athletes.
