Everyone that disagrees with anything the General says or does, are all misled, he continues to say. Bow to the General, lick his feet like a good pet and agree with him, he says he says their charges will be taken care of. Quality democracy he says. There will be no quality democracy, the General and his trusted appointees are changing the constitution so that there is no effective elected government, they are neutralizing any elected persons, so any elected party doesn't have any effective say in how Thailand is governed. He and his appointees tell Thai they can mak changes, but they can't!!!! Changes will require a Senate agreeing to them, the Senate is now controlled by the General, military and their trusted appointees and supporters, as are many areas of government. This is all set up, as a lot of people know, so the military and their supporters can retain their control and power, while remaining unaccountable to he people. As far as quality democracy, notice the word 'quality', this is subjective, and up for interpretation. Is quality democracy one where those elected by the people don't really have any say in governing and the direction, as well as implementing their platforms they got elected on. It's also interesting that the General is saying democracy needs to be fixed, we should all remember that it's the military that always changes the constitution when they partake in coups. It's time changes and improvements are done without the military, it should be done by the people. The current constitution should be changed and discussed by the people, not the military and their appointees and supporters. The General says violence is not the way, people agree with that, but let's remember just who caused this last coup, so they could get control. There are two ways out of this....go ahead with all the changes the General and his appointees want, and there will be a revolution afterwards once Thai realize what the General has changed in the constitution and it's implications OR main political parties and their supporters need to march in large numbers (peacefully) in solidarity to take back their country from the military, and decide among themselves and the people as to what changes should be made. This is exactly what the military doesn't want. They would have to step aside and allow the people to make decisions. Only when there is a consensus democratically can Thailand move forward. Parties can keep their philosophies, but need to agree they will abide by democratic principles and law. As most people have noticed, the military and their power, has never solved one thing in Thailand, except to continue power among themselves. Even the recent agreed purchase of 3 Chinese build submarines, the military leaders have said we have to buy them now, because a democratic government will probably not agree to buy them...that is total disregard for quality democracy and it's process, by the military and should make it a lot more clear that democracy by the people is not what they want.
