Instructions:
1. Each of the following items contains FOUR grammatical mistakes; it may have some common problems like subject-verb agreement, pronoun reference, capitalization, spelling, wrong word form, active or passive voice, sentence fragment, a comma splice or faulty parallelism, etc.
2. Underline FOUR grammatical mistakes found in each item.
3. Identify subject and predicate for each item in the provided space.
4. Correct FOUR mistakes by rewriting each item in the provided space so that it becomes logical and grammatical complete sentence.

PART TWO: READING COMPREHENSION (TOTAL 20 MARKS)—Cause/Effect Paragraph
Instructions: 1) Read the following paragraph and answer the following items.
2) For items 1 - 5, answer in your own words with complete sentences. If you copy the answer from the reading passage, your answers will not be graded.

Instructions:
(1) Read the following scrambled and poorly organized paragraph carefully.
(2) Write FIVE irrelevant sentences in the provided space, and
(3) Reorganize and write ONE PARAGRAPH OUTLINE in complete sentences in the provided space.
What do students need to do:
1. Choose 5 irrelevant sentences and write them down in the provided space.
2. Reorganize the remaining 15 complete sentences in the correct order of compare- contrast paragraph OUTLINE
(i.e. the OUTLINE can be either block or point-by-point pattern)
