The idea of the work is to move cargo from the cargo tank near to the grounding area to the farthest ballast tanks and to define the RefloatingMoment and the corresponding trim angle after moving the cargo using HECSALV™. At each step, the metacentric height GMT and the maximum bending moment (β) are defined to check stability and longitudinal strength. In some cases, it has been found that it is not possible to free the ship since the required RefloatingMoment is very large. In such cases, the only available solution is lightering the ship.
