The official statement was presented to the Turkish Embassy to try and gain consularassistance last week.
Mr. Bilal speaks reasonable English and he was able to communicate with his lawyerin English.
His family back in Turkey still doesn't even know he is in jail in Thailand yet.
The lawyer said the lawyer's involvement with Turkish business people in Bangkok led him to represent Mr Bilal, as the news of the fake Turkish passport was raisingconcerns among Turkish nationals.
