Initially, one may assume that leadership development
influences the nursing team and that the nursing
team in turn influences the care-giving processes (Perra
2000, Mahoney 2001, Snow 2001, Jooste 2004).
However, the present study suggested that the relationship
between leadership development and team
members is less linear than expected. As leadership
development is an interactive, inter-dependent process
that occurs between the clinical leader and team members,
the relationship is rather circular.
