2.4. Characterization of palm kernel
The determination of moisture content was carried out according to PORIM test method (no. p5.2), 1995. The moisture content of ground palm kernel was found to be 4.17%. The total oil determined in the ground palm kernel was found to be 47.2 ± 0.2 g oil extracted/100 g of ground palm kernel on wet basis by Soxhlet extraction.
