Prevalence of food insecurity measured by HFIAS was
70% (n = 210). Fig. 2 shows food groups consumed by >50%
of participants in the three DDS tertiles. DDS did not differ
significantly between the two groups where diets were
predominantly cereals and fats/oils. Sugars and beverage
were consumed by >50% of the participants in the medium
and high DDS tertiles. In addition, vegetables and meat
were consumed by >50% of participants in the high DDS
tertiles.
