Behavior change also was evaluated using social validation procedures. Ten community members were shown videotapes of pre-and post-training behaviors and asked to rate the children on overall social appearance and on the use of specific target responses. All three children showed significant improvement in use of target responses, and two of the three children were rated significantly better in overall social appearance following training. lnformal data collectcted from parents and teachers indicated that the spontaneous use of the target behaviors generalized to the home and other situations.
