Three different substrates (maize stalk, pea residue, banana leaves) with two different supplements (rice bran and
chicken manure) as well as substrate without supplement (control) were investigated to determine the growth and
yield of oyster mushroom (P. sajor-caju). Weekly mycelial extension on different substrates is shown in Table 1.
Maize stalks with rice bran showed significantly faster mycelial extension which were 6.46 cm, 12.68 cm and
18.24 cm in first, second and third week respectively. Pea wastes residue with rice bran also showed significantly
faster mycelial extension in second and third weeks, respectively followed by chicken manure and control.
