Stage 2 – From 1946 to the mid-1960s, transnational corporations began to become more powerful. The were responsible for approximately 80% of the international trade that took place outside of the communist bloc countries.
Vertical integration increased during this period. Vertical integration means that companies owned
more or all of the stages of production, distribution and sales. 100% VI would mean that the same company grows or builds, ships, packages, warehouses and sells a product.
