Installation and Operating Manual
For Pneumatic Spring Return Actuators
3.1. Required operation
ATC actuators are generally designed for on-off applications.
For all actuators applies: for enduring proper operation and prevent parts form unequal wear, stroke the actuator at least twice a year. Operating the actuator 12 (partial) strokes every year is recommended by ATC.
3.2. Maintenance checks
The actuator considered to be maintenance free, however random inspections are advised to check proper operation and remark irregularities in a early stage, please perform the following check at least twice a year :
a.
c b.
c.
d. e. f.
g.
• Check in general if all (visible) components of the actuator are in proper conditions
• Check if all connection still in proper condition and no leakage is occurring
• Check coating of the actuator and look for signs of corrosion. In case some area of the coating is damaged, repair it according the proper specification
• Check the filter regular and replace the filter if necessary
• Check if the supply pressure is still within the operating range
• Check If the remote signals (switches) are correct
• Check that the actuator operates the valve correctly and with the required operating times. If the actuator operation Is very infrequent, carry out a few (partial) stroke.
3.3. Seal replacement
In case it is(preventively) needed to replace one of the seals, please consult our office
