In recent years, the Harbin City Reach of the Songhua River system has been
heavily polluted by the loadings (I1i and I2i). Most river segments cannot meet targeted
water quality goals, so thewater quality management implication of the study
is to control the load reduction for protecting the regional water resource system.
From Eq. (5), the downriver water quality (C2,down) was mainly affected by pollutant
loadings (I2i). The response of each pollution source with changes in downriver
water quality goals should be addressed for effective water quality management.
Pollutant loadings (I2i) of each period were estimated under specific water quality
goals by the Bayesian method and the load reduced ratios could be calculated from
the marginal posteriors of I2i. From these analyses, decision makers can consider
how to control I2i in the best way to make downriver pollutant concentration meet
specific water quality goals.
