It may also indicate that experiencing a teen pregnancy per se has a negative effect on mental health, regardless of whether the pregnancy results in a live birth, and that a pregnancy ending in a non-live birth may be worse for mental health than those ending in live births—which is similar to what another set of researchers found using similar data [25]. We acknowledge several shortcomings of this study. There are the usual concerns regarding accuracy in selfreported data, particularly given the sensitive nature of issues like pregnancy outcomes
