I stumbled into the Phuwieng dinosaur museum after what had been a desperate stay in deserts of Isan, and after too much grilled pork was pleasured to find the intellectual oasis of this museum. The displays within the museum are well constructed, easy to navigate, and offer a great deal of information to any visitor who enjoys reading and would like to take some knowledge home with them from their visit. Overall, the design and content I would say, are on par with quality museums in the United States and the built to scale dinosaur models, although not as extravagant as some museums I have been too, are also well done and laid out. High quality materials, good construction, and good science available in English (as well as Thai) are not what I would have expected going to a museum in this part of the country. Also, the outdoor sections of the museum offer a mildly strenuous walk through a very wooded area. This place would make for a good afternoon without getting to see a preserved dinosaur dig site. Good stop!
