The vibration located at 3417 cm−1 was present in spectra of control plant cell walls in upper leaves.
However, this vibration shifted to 3398 cm−1 in spectra of the cell wall in upper leaves of B-deficient plants. Vibrations located at ∼2930 and ∼2858 cm−1 were attributed to CH2 asymmetric stretching and could originate from the wax substances present in the cell walls (Abidi et al., 2008).
