Ethanol production by thermotolerant, fermentative yeasts Yeast strains that are able to produce ethanol in cul- tures with higher concentrations of glucose [15% (w/v)] are important for industrial fermentation. In this study, the alco- hol productivity of strains TB2-1 and TW1-3 at 40℃ after a 48-h incubation was observed in YPD medium containing 15% glucose. Under these conditions, ethanol production with the strains TB2-1 and TW1-3 was 5.9% and 6.4% (w/v), respectively.
