Plagues & Infectious Diseases
Plagues and diseases are not new. Rats have killed far more people than all of the wars fought in history combined. Rats and the fleas that live on them can carry the bacteria Yersinia pestis, which causes the Bubonic plague.
Rats are exceptional breeders. In one year, a healthy pair of rats and produce 15,000 baby rats. They thrive in cities and New York City has almost as many rats as there are people. There have been several global plagues in history that have killed hundreds of millions of people.
Infectious Diseases
Infectious diseases such as TB, polio, meningitis, syphilis, pneumonia are on the rise. These diseases were once under control and many thought that these diseases had been beaten and eliminated.
With advancements in transportation and the increase in global tourism, diseases are transported around the world daily and they are often emerging in places where they were never observed before.
