The numerous publications on the investigation of soils from the South Hemisphere and Mediterranean regions testify the important role of Fe-oxide and hydroxide minerals in their aggregation ( Schwertmann, 1988; 1989; Goldberg et al , 1990; Colombo et al, 1991; Churchman et al, 1994; Torrent, 1994 etc.). In spite of the papers written the aggregative effect of Fe oxides remains still unclear and differs in soil types as a consequence of the mineralogy of iron compounds, their crystallinity and content.
