The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation
ensures the ease of goods, services, investment
and person movement across borders. In other
words, members can facilitate the trade through
faster borders procedures, more favorable
business will be behind the border, and
regulations across the region should be
standardized. As one example, APEC's
initiatives to synchronize regulatory systems can
slightly help exporting products with just one set
of common standards across the region.
It also works to help all members of the community participating in the growing economy,
for instance, providing digital skills and training to rural communities and helping indigenous
women exporting their products abroad. With recognizing the impacts of climate changes, APEC
members are also implemented plans to increase energy efficiency and promoted sustainable
management of forest and marine resources. In addition, it often adapts itself in order to allow
members to deal with important new events and situations related with the region's economic wellbeing
including to ensure disaster resilience, to plan for pandemics, and to address terrorism.
