The processes of globalization (the increasing interconnection of the world as a complex system), including its often negative consequences, have appeared to be inevitable and all-embracing. There are rumors in the corridors of university social science faculties that globalization is, perhaps, not as sustainable as we have been told. However, will these rumors prevail in reality? In order to analyze globalization and its sustainability, our group not only discusses the “pros” and “cons” based on substantial materials addressing this controversial issue, but also includes a mathematical method which helps us understand the correlation between globalization and sustainability. Finally, we explore how we can endeavor to make globalization more sustainable, especially from social aspect.
