Skin and musculature carotenoid deposition
After the flowerhorn fish were fed with carotenoid- supplemented diets for the three periods (30, 60 and 90 days), they show marked carotenoid depo- sitions in the skin and musculature (P 0.05). Total carotenoid content in fish skin and muscle of each experimental group showed significant differ- ences (P 0.05) in the total carotenoid contents for each fish (Fig. 2a). The diet supplemented with FS had a higher total carotenoid content than SP and the control. This holds
