The telephone can easily eat into your time and make your schedule for the day go haywire. It is both possible and essential to use the telephone in an efficient way. If you don’t learn to manage the time spent over the phone, you could valuable time in terms of productivity in a day and eventually will affect your work schedule over a period of time.
How to manage your time spend over the telephone is something that we will discuss in the next couple slides. Time can be managed in the following two categories. Ask the class what are the two types of calls that you can get? Wait for answers. Tell them it’s a rather simple answer.
1. MANAGING INCOMING CALLS – Ask the class who they would manage incoming calls?
There are three ways to manage incoming calls.
1. DIVERT CALLS IF YOU ARE BUSY OR IN A MEETING
2. INTERCEPT CALLS BY SOMEONE IF YOU ARE NOT AVAILABLE OR IN A MEETING
