General reflections
From August 10-22 I traveled in Thailand and Cambodia and was together with Kjartan, Martin, Irene and our national teams. The trip was very successful. We led Learning Communities in Buriram, Thailand and Phnom Penh and arranged a taster in Pursat province in Cambodia. In addition we spent time with our national teams and participated in a national Leaders’ Summit in Phnom Penh.
Agenda1 is growing in size and quality.
In Thailand: around 10 new churches started in a new Learning Community in Buriram.
In Cambodia: several new churches participated in the national LC with a record number of participants and a successful taster for a new LC in Pursat province.
I believe we are getting better in our communication, finding simple ways to explain central truths and adding new truths and perspectives to the existing teachings.
I see many signs that we are succeeding in our mission of equipping leaders to build missional churches in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Testimonies from churches that have participated for years tell us of long-term growth and development. Leaders that are beginning now tell us that A1 is relevant and helpful, giving them new insights and inspiration.
We hear church leaders in both countries teaching and sharing the concepts we teach in a way that shows that they understand them and are applying them in their own cultural contexts.
The LC process is working well, both with the established teams and with the new ones. The national leaders know how to lead the process in a way that is easy for the participants to understand. Both national teams are doing an excellent job.
Even though we see that the majority of the churches are reaping benefits from A1 and developing a new mindset, it appears that a number of churches are striving to understand and apply the teachings. It’s not surprising. We are challenging their fundamental ways of understanding and leading their churches.
