Nursing faculty and student volunteers collaborated with the
director of Health Services to create a stress reduction educational
program to inform students and faculty about the importance of stress
reduction. Students prepared PowerPoint presentations, distributed
handwritten materials, and developed a series of health promotion
activities to empower their peers to understand the importance of
taking charge of their health. The use of alternate relaxation therapies,
such as music and handheld anxiety reduction devices, provided experiential opportunities for recipients to learn how to experience
relaxation and reduced stress. Educational information was distributed
and a blood pressure screening event was conducted
