The 6a and 6b micrographs series exhibited the mini-implants
surface in macroscale. Comparing the superficial finishing, nTi miniimplants
presented the smoothest surface, and Ti-6Al-4 V miniimplants
presented the roughest surface (Fig. 6b). The 6c and 6d SEM
micrographs series presented a torsional pattern fracture in all material
base groups. The shear deformation was concentrated out of the center
of themini-implants long axis. It is possible to observe that the fracture
surface of the mini-implants is smooth and relatively flat, perpendicular
to the axis of the mini-implant, and characterized by a “center of twist”
surrounded by concentric circular flow lines.
