Gill spoke, "It looks like your going to have to spend the night here."
Hikari looked out the window and nodded in agreement. There was no way she was going home in that
Just as that thought passed through her mind she saw a plant of some sort get tossed around in the storm. When she saw it she just pointed at it and laughed. Gill looked at her sort of annoyed but she swore she could have seen a little smile on his face.
Hikari turned to him.
"So where am I going to sleep?" She asked. Gill looked around. "Well you could sleep in my bed, and I could sleep on the couch. Or you can sleep on the couch and I can sleep in my bed." Hikari didn't want to cause Gill anymore trouble so she took the couch.
They bid each other goodnight, and went to sleep. Hikari pulled the star patterned blanket over her and turned around and fell asleep.
....
Hikari sat straight up and breathed heavily. She looked at the clock beside the couch. It read 0:13. She looked around. She had a horrible dream. She couldn't see anything. A streak of lightning cought her by surprise, and made her jump three feet in the air. Now Hikari wasn't usually afraid of lightning, but after the dream she just had....she didn't think she could stay by herself much longer.
So she didn't...
Hikari felt kind of embarrased as she opened the door to Gill's room.
"Gill-kun." She said as she approached his bed. "Gill-kun." She gently shook him awake.
He groggily opened his eyes, blinked a few times, then sat up. "What is it Hikari?"
Hikari felt her face growing hot. "Do you mind...if....if I sleep with you tonight? The lightning...it scared me...and I had a bad dream..." She felt pathetic as she asked this of Gill, but none the less Gill understood. A patch of pink spread across his cheeks. "Uh yeah sure." He got up so Hikari could be next to the wall. She got in and under the covers, then he did the same.
"Thank you Gill."
"No problem." He replied and turned over to go to sleep.
Hikari tried to do the same, but another flash of lightning made her give out a little shreak and she started to shake.
She soon felt Gill wrap his arms around her and pull her into his cheast.
"Its okay." He whispered, "I'm here."
Hikari relaxed in his arms and smiled, and finally went to sleep.
~~
The sound of someone yelling woke the pair in the bed up. Gill relesed his grip from around Hikari and they both sat up to Mayor Hamiltion, laughing and smiling at them.
'Oh crap.' Hikari thought. Gill looked confused, as the storm was over and the light coming in from the window was blinding him.
"Son!" The mayor shouted.
"Yes father?" Gill asked still confused.
"Why didn't you tell me you and Hikari-chan were going together?"
......WHAT?! Hikari thought.
Gill looked, unconfused finally and agrovaited, yet his face showed a little flush in it.
"Father, we are not going together! And since when did I say you could come in my room without knocking?"
"Thats not what it looks like to me!" The mayor chuckled.
Gill rolled his eyes. "Father we are not!"
"Ohhkay son." Hamiliton said sarcasticly and walked out of the room. Gill sighed...he knew how many people his father was going to tell this story to..
He looked over to Hikari. "Well uh, Goodmorning."
Hikari nodded and fell back into the bed. Her head was still dizy from what the mayor had said. Going together? Her and Gill? Haha, that wouldn't happen. Gill was just a friend...A very good friend.
Hikari's thoughts were intruppeted when she heard the mayor's voice in the other room talking to someone. She guessed.
"Oh Shelly! You'll never guess who I just found asleep with my son in his bed.
That rancher girl Hikari!"
Gill's face flushed again. "Father!" He screamed and ran out to go stop him from spreading the story anymore.
Hikari blinked and tried to burry her head in the pillow. Great now how was anyone going to take her seriously anymore?
