At the Waterfront Resort we have two public parking areas. The first is a short-term car park located to one side of the front entrance area, with the second, main car park down one side of the main building. This larger area has car parking in the front section and longer bus parking bays at the rear.
The Concierge has informed me the surface of the short-term parking area is starting to deteriorate and potholes are forming in the back car park where the buses park. Both parking areas should be repaired before the situation worsens and increases the cost of repairs.
In addition, the bathroom lighting in all our accommodation rooms needs to be upgraded, as the lighting fixtures are more than seven years old. Maintenance costs are increasing, and some fittings have already had to be replaced. The replacements were only meant to be temporary and don’t match the rest of the resort’s decor.
Both projects have roughly the same total cost, but the resort can only afford to finance one project in this financial year. We have to choose which project to complete, and incorporate the associated costs into our budgets.
