Whitening effects
The whitening effects of lipid dispersions are one
of the most elegant properties of such formula-
tions. This will allow weakening of the coloration
of coloured actives such as coenzyme Q10 (yel-
low). Other examples are those actives that can
turn into coloured intermediate products during
the shelf life (vitamins) [20]. If incorporation of
those actives into SLN or NLC is achieved, a whit-
ening effect is obtained, which is considered more
appealing to the customer from the marketing
point of view
